This week at St Stephens

Dear St. Stephen's,

You may recall that I'm on annual leave this week, so this message has been pre-scheduled.

Here's what's coming up this week at St Stephen's.

Tomorrow: TeaTimers meet as usual at 2.30pm with the theme Mysterious Maps - sounds intriguing so do come along to find out more! Then at 6.30pm Alpha Youth will be continuing with week two of their course. It's not too late to join if you know any young people who may be interested - contact Stephen for more details.

This Sunday: Our curate, Ruth, will be leading and preaching at our 9am and 10.30am services. She'll be continuing our series on 1 Corinthians, exploring the end of chapter 10 and the theme of using our Christian freedom well. Children's and youth groups will take place during our 10.30am service. There will also be a crèche available. Refreshments will be served between the services from 10am.

Shortly afterwards, there's the People and Planet bring and share lunch, starting at 12.30pm. Guest speaker is Helen Blackholly who will be sharing about her experiences of helping women in the global south understand their reproductive rights. If you would like to come to this lunch or to know more about People and Planet, please contact Sue Charlton.

Monday: I'll be leading a service of Holy Communion at St David's Care Home at 11.30am. If you would like to learn more about how we support the residents and staff at St David's, please do get in touch with me.

Tuesday: Our parents and toddlers group Shining Stars gathers from 10am. Open to all children aged 0-4 and their parents or carers. Contact Morgen for more details.

Wednesday: Midweek service of Holy Communion from 10am. All welcome!

Looking ahead, a reminder that on Sunday 28th September, the Ealing Half Marathon means our usual Sunday services won't be happening. Instead we have an invitation to:

  • Come and support the runners as we host a water station from the church forecourt. There will be a steel pan band playing to keep everyone motivated and entertained!
  • Help serve tea and coffee - if you're able to help with this, please contact Morgen.
  • Come along to our Worship and Prayer evening at 6pm.

I look forward to seeing you soon.

With every blessing,

David
