Sunday Morning Services
You will find St Stephen's alive with vibrant worship, intimate prayer and growing friendships. There are two morning services with different styles which suit different people, but the preaching and mission are the same: to encounter a living God.
The 9am is a traditional communion service which uses Anglican Common Worship liturgy each week and includes a bible based sermon. We sing classic hymns, the clergy wear robes, and the service last about an hour. During Holy Communion prayer ministry is available for any who would like it.
Quality Fairtrade tea and coffee (plus refreshments for children) are served in our Café between our morning services giving people from both services the opportunity to catch up with each other. Most Sundays we run a bookstall, and on the first Sunday of each month a Fairtrade stall.
Although the service begins at 10.30 we gather from 10am to enjoy fellowship in our Café.
The 10.30am is a lively service with band led sung worship, bible based teaching and groups for children
. Then we all share communion together - the service lasts for about an hour and a quarter.
. Prayer ministry is available every week during communion or after the service.
We also have regular all-age worship services
, usually on the first Sunday of the month at 10.30, when we all worship together: these services are slightly shorter, with no communion. During school holidays and major Christian festivals we usually have an All Age Communion Service instead of separate children's groups.
