Weekly Update - stamps

HTB Leadership Conference at St Stephens
In May we are going to ‘host’ the online HTB Leadership Conference which usually takes place at the Royal Albert Hall but has been cancelled for the third year in a row.  This year it will be held online but shortened from a two day event to a few hours.  So we are going to show the livestream in Church on Tuesday 3rd May at 7pm.  If you’ve not been to the Leadership Conference before, you can look forward to worship, talks, interviews and prayer.  It should be a great evening - all are welcome.
Our new Bishop Lusa will be present at both morning services on Sunday 8th May and will confirm Monika and Jason Scott and Adriel Tarani at the 10.30 service.
Church Annual Meeting
Our Church Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday 15th May at 6.30pm at Church.  At that meeting we will need to elect 2 Churchwardens for a one year term (Mary Ann Auckland is willing to stand for re-election) and 3 members of the Church Council for a three year term. Anyone wishing to stand as Churchwarden is asked to speak to Steve Newbold in advance of submitting a nomination. Nominations open on Sunday 24th April.

Electoral Roll
This is now published and is available to view in church. Please check that your names are correctly listed and if there are any spelling mistakes please let Morgen Edwards, our Electoral Roll Officer, know via email.
Sunday Cafe
Please remember to bring your own thermos or reusable cup to cafe between the services to save on single usage cups..
Summer Sundays
For five weeks in the summer (31st July - 28th August inc) we will be combining our Sunday morning services.  For 5 weeks there will be just one service at 10am which will contain hymns, songs, teaching and Holy Communion in a relaxed but structured format. We will revert to our normal pattern in September.
Christian Aid Week
15th - 21st May

Help Jessica in Zimbabwe turn hunger into hope. She and other mothers trying to grow food for their families are struggling with drought caused largely by the Climate Crisis. Money raised will pay for drought tolerant seeds and help to store crops safely to last through the dry months. Please support the following events this May. Note: some dates have had to be changed from previous communications:

Saturday 14th May 11 am - 2pm in the Church grounds. If wet, indoors. Please help by donating Books, Plants, Games & Jigsaws and Cakes for sale. Enjoy a cuppa and stay for a light lunch too! Contact Sue Charlton (details below) about any donations or bring on the day.

Sunday Service
Sunday 15th May will feature the work of Christian Aid and this appeal in particular, with readings, prayers and a video.

Car Wash
Saturday 21st May. Our Youth Group will be washing cars in the Church car park during the afternoon. Support our Youth as they raise money for Christian Aid. Book your slot by contacting Caroline Newbold at caroline@ststephens-ealing.org.

A Concert for Christian Aid
Sunday 22nd May at 3pm followed by tea in the Church Centre. Once again we are delighted to host Helen Vickery's Choir. Lovely music followed by yummy tea and cakes. No booking required or fee - donations only for Christian Aid.

Please invite friends and families to any or all these events.

Also Sue Charlton has pledged to walk 300,000 steps for Christian Aid during the month of May. Please sponsor her here.

And if anyone wants to join Sue Charlton or in this or contact her email Sue sacharlton@btinternet.com.

We have a lunch and quiz evening planned for Friday 3rd June, and a Cake competition and sale on Sunday 5th June. We also want to make our own bunting to decorate the building. Go to our website for more info and watch out for chance to participate.
