Weekly Update - stamps

Big Clean and Odd Job Morning
Saturday 30th October 9:30am - 12pm – volunteers of all ages and abilities welcome as we dust down the building and do some of those odd jobs that need doing from time to time.  Refreshments provided. Please let carolinejamieson@ststephens-ealing.org know that you are coming.

Light Party
We will once again be running the Light Party, a Christian alternative to Halloween, on Sunday 31st October from 5-7pm. To enable the party to run smoothly, entry will not be permitted after 5:30pm. The party is for children aged 5-11 years old. No Halloween costumes please, instead wear the brightest clothing you can find. In addition, this year we will be having a pumpkin carving competition. Bring your own pre-carved pumpkin to the party. The theme is Jesus is the Light of the World - No traditional/scary Halloween carvings will be entered. There are some ideas on our website. We need to know and limit numbers so please complete the form on our website with the names, ages and any dietary/allergy requirements of the children that will be attending.

People & Planet
We meet next on Sunday 31st October at 12.30 - 2pm for lunch together. COP26 starts this day, and in tune with considering sustainable living we will be looking at Waste and how best to recycle what cannot be reused. There's more we can do since we last looked at this topic, so do come with your ideas and thoughts as we tackle the subjects with film clips and games. Let us know if you can come. Sue Charlton at 8997 8236 or Enid Barron at 8997 1958.

Not Forgotten
On Sunday 7th November 4pm we are holding a service for all those who have been affected by loss during the pandemic, whether by being bereaved or in other ways, for example by having been prevented from travelling to a family event or by losing work or opportunities.  It will be a time to reflect, to remember and to commit our lives afresh to our loving heavenly father. We will not on this occasion be offering refreshments after the service.  Contact Caroline Newbold for more information.

Tearfund
Saturday 20th November 7:30pm start and will be held on Zoom. More details to follow.

Christmas Fair
All being well, our Christmas Fair will return on 27th November after a year of COVID closure! It may look a little different as we're planning for less stalls and more space to reduce crowding. There'll still be many of the popular stalls, Father Christmas, raffle, refreshments and light lunches. But it will only be possible if we can all pitch in and help out. Our purpose - to enjoy working together, to welcome friends and neighbours and to raise money for the Ealing Foodbank. Please look out for ways you can get involved in the coming weeks. Sue Charlton 8997 8236.
