Weekly Update - stamps

The Church library can be found on the trolley in the cafe area most Sunday mornings.  Plenty of excellent books to borrow (including God doesn't do Waste by Dave Bookless),  just sign them out.  If you have books you would like to donate please don't put them on the trolley but give them to Sally Horattides or Caroline Newbold.

Ealing Home-Start
For several years now JAM (formerly Cool Christians) has collected books as gifts for the Christmas party of Ealing Home-Start who help families with young children who are struggling to cope. We are once again asking the families of St Stephen's for your generosity to help families with children who are less fortunate than ours, by providing the gift of a brand new book for their Christmas party in early December. Please involve your children with the buying the book, which is needed by Sunday 28th November at the latest, and explain to them what it is for and who it will be helping.

Please don't wrap the book as the parent will choose a book for their child from the selection provided at the party.
- The books are for children aged three and under
- The value should be approximately £7-£8
- The books should be new.
- The children are multi-faith so books should be faith-neutral.

Please bring the book to church on any Sunday during November for the attention of Morgen Edwards or Celia Manwaring. If you have any questions please do contact Morgen via email on admin@ststephens-ealing.org. Thank you very much in advance for your help.

JAM Charity Collection
Each year our Sunday School chooses a charity to collect for though out the year. This year we have decided to collect for Ealing Foodbank to further help them with the much needed and wonderful work they do.

Light Party
We are excited to announce that we will once again be running the Light Party, a Christian alternative to Halloween, on Sunday 31st October from 5-7pm. To enable the party to run smoothly, entry will not be permitted after 5:30pm. The party is for children aged 5-11 years old. No Halloween costumes please, instead wear the brightest clothing you can find. In addition, this year we will be having a pumpkin carving competition. Bring your own pre-carved pumpkin to the party. The theme is Jesus is the Light of the World - No traditional/scary Halloween carvings will be entered. Here are some ideas for you. We need to know and limit numbers so please complete the form on our website with the names, ages and any dietary/allergy requirements of the children that will be attending.

Volunteer Needed
Can you help?  We need someone who is willing to take the church tea towels and wash them each week.  Numbers vary - anything from 6 -12 a week.  If you are able to help please speak to Morgen Edwards (admin@ststephens-ealing.org).

The Bible Society
Periodically the Bible Society visit St Stephen's and interview some of our members about a particular Bible verse that has meaning to them. They are coming to us on Tuesday 26th October. You can see an example of their interviews here. If you have not been interviewed by them before and would like to be please let Morgen Edwards (admin@ststephens-ealing.org) by Thursday 14th October.
