Vicar's update 4th OctoberSteve Newbold1

Thank you to all who gave to our Harvest collection yesterday.  If you were unable to be present but would like to make a financial donation to the Ealing Foodbank you can do so via our website here .  If you missed the service, you can catch up on the Livestream here.

We were delighted to announce yesterday that next summer we will be joined by the Robinson family when Ruth becomes our new curate. Ruth is currently studying for ordination at Trinity College in Bristol and was previously the Acton CAP debt centre manager. Do pray for Ruth, Mark and their twins Oisín and Aoibheanna as they prepare to join us.

Our monthly Prayer Meeting is tomorrow (Tuesday 5th) at 8pm in Church – come and pray for our church and its mission.

The advertisement for a new Worship Pastor is now out – please do spread the word with any contacts you have and on social media.

The Grove team have relaunched the weekly Community Lunch in the Gurnell Grove community centre and are in urgent need of volunteers who would be willing to join the cooking rota - ideally once a month. Volunteers would cook a hot meal at home and bring it to the centre.  Attending the event is not necessary though welcome. The lunch is every Monday during term time between 1-:2:30pm - for more details contact mark@gurnellgrove.com.

Next Sunday (10th October) we mark Climate Sunday and look forward to welcoming the Revd Dave Bookless as our guest preacher at 9am and 10.30am.  Dave is a part time Vicar in Southall and the Director of Theology for A Rocha International.  He is passionate about communicating biblical teaching to today’s culture, and he has spoken around the world to conferences, colleges and churches.  You can find out more about him here - he is a great speaker, don't miss it!

Our rearranged Big Clean and Odd job morning will now take place on Saturday 30th October – volunteers of all ages and abilities will be very welcome!

Remember each week to wear warm clothing to church and also bring a re-useable cup for the Café.

With my love and prayers

Steve
