Vicar's update 13th September
It was good to see more of you returning to Church yesterday and to see the return of our Café, children and youth work and Communion at the 10.30service. At our services I spoke from Revelation 2 and suggested that many of us many have struggled to maintain a passion in our faith during the pandemic. I encouraged us all to commit to coming to Sunday worship and to seek a fresh vision from the Lord. You can listen here.
Please do remember to bring a reusable coffee mug with you each week for the Cafe – we want to limit our use of disposable cups to visitors.
Now that we are mixing more at church can I encourage us all to be doing regular Covid lateral flow tests. The Government recommend that we all do them each week and you can order tests here https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests. I realise that some haven’t done this before, but the tests are free, easy to use and give you a result at home within 15mins. Let’s keep safe by testing as much as possible.
The Big Green week is nearly upon us - you are invited to join in with the Litter Pick this Saturday (18th) at 3pm (bring gloves and a grabber if you have one) and The Big Green Fair on Saturday 25th 11-3pm. More details or flyers from Sue Charlton (8997 8236) or Enid Barron (8997 1958).
The following day (Sunday 26th September) is the Ealing Half Marathon. There will be no morning services that day because roads around the church are closed off but coffee will be available outside of church as the runners go past between. If you are taking part please let us know. There will be an evening Communion Service at 6pm – all are welcome.
Bishop Pete’s leaving service will take place on Saturday 25th September at 7:00pm at St John’s West Ealing but numbers will be limited to a few of us from each Parish. If you would like to attend, please can you let me know by the end of this week?
Morning Prayer will be said in church on Monday and Friday at 9am (it remains on Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Shining Stars our mid-week Parent/Carer Toddler Group is on Tuesday at 10am.
Mid-week Communion will be celebrated in church on Wednesday at 10am.
JAM (our children’s work) continues next week during the 10.30am service.
