Vicar's update 16th AugustSteve Newbold1

We are continuing our series looking at the life of the early church through the book of Acts and you can catch up here.  Yesterday, Enid Barron spoke about Acts 16 and the role Lydia played in responding to God’s call, and encouraged us all to be aware of how God may be calling us to new things.

Do remember that we resume our 9am and 10.30am services on Sunday 5th September and will join together for a bring your own picnic in Cleveland Park at 12noon.  Over the past few weeks we have enjoyed seeing more people return to in person church services and we look forward to seeing lots more in September - do join us if you can but if not, the 10.30am will be livestreamed for the foreseeable future.

We plan to resume our between services Cafe on Sunday 12th September. In future we will be asking people to bring their own reusable cup, so be prepared!

We also look forward to our groups and activities for children and young people resuming in September. Shining Stars our Toddler Group will start on Tuesday 8th September.  JAM – our children’s church & St Stephen's Youth for 11-16s, will both restart during the 10:30 service on Sunday 12th September.

Over the next two weeks we will welcome back Revds Susy and Andrew Dand who are leading and preaching at the 9am and 11am services on Sunday 22nd and 29th August.

Throughout August we have

  • Zoom Morning Prayer on Tuesday and Thursday at 9am
  • Zoom Communion/Prayer on Wednesday at 11am
  • Sunday Services - 9am and 11am in Church and 11am Livestreamed

Hoping you all get some rest and refreshment over the summer - my next Vicar's Update will be at the start of September.

With my love and prayers

Steve
