Vicar's update 21st OctoberSteve Newbold1

Yesterday we had the second in our series about Giving.  If you missed this, or last week’s talk, Please listen on the website here – I would love everyone to hear this teaching.  Letters are now available for all church members which set out the Church budget plans and we ask you to prayerfully consider your personal giving for 2020 and return your completed Pledge Card in the next few weeks. Thank you.

Next Saturday (26th) we are holding a Quiet Morning from 10am - 12.30pm.  This is a great time to find some space to meet with God in the midst of our busy lives.  Drop in for as much or as little as you wish.

Next Sunday (27th) we will welcome Neville Willerton (Director of Operations of the Church Army) as our preacher at the 9am and 10.30am services.  The Church Army are a fantastic organisation and run the Marylebone Project for homeless women, which we support as a church. Do come to hear about their latest work.

Also on Sunday (27th) we hold our Annual Memorial Service at 3.30pm.  All are welcome to attend and if you are coming and would like to remember someone, please write their names down on the list at Church.

On Thursday 31st October we are holding our annual Light Party for those aged 5-11.  Instead of taking part in Halloween activities, bring your children and their friends along to our fantastic party where we will have lots of fun celebrating light triumphing over darkness – you can pick up flyers to give away in church.  Please book your places via the St Stephen’s website here.

Finally, a reminder that the clocks go back next Saturday night – do remember or you will be an hour early for church!

Have a good week, and for those with children or who work in schools enjoy the half term holiday.

Steve
