Vicar's update 23rd SeptemberSteve Newbold1

Alpha begins on Thursday (26th ) at 7.45pm – there is still time to sign up and invite friends.  If you are not coming please do pray for those who are that they might meet with God and come to a new or renewed personal faith in Jesus.

On Saturday (28th) we are hosting a Craft Fair to help fund our community fete next year so please drop in at some point and show your support, there are free activities for children. We still need help with moving furniture, making cakes and serving refreshments.  If you can help please contact Jane Maffett.

Then on Sunday (29th) the Ealing Half Marathon takes place and local roads will be closed by 9am.  We are again running a Community Café and hosting the UFO Steel Band.  There is only one service that day – Cafe Church at 4.30pm.  This is a different form of service to what we normally do and includes tea and cake, sung worship, teaching and Holy Communion.  There will also be separate children’s groups.

Our Harvest Festival is on Sunday 6th October.  We will again be collecting for the Ealing Foodback.  Please bring any of the items listed on their website or on the poster in the Church Centre (no fresh food please) and/or make a financial contribution - using a Yellow Gift Aid envelope if possible.  Traditional Worship is at 9am, All Age Worship at 10.30am and Open to God at 6.30pm.

On Saturday 12th October we are holding a clean-up afternoon from 1pm-4.30pm.  Our churchwardens write, ‘We would love you to come along to Church and help clean up (and do small DIY jobs that need to be done) before winter sets in.  You just need to bring a song in your heart and plenty of elbow grease as all tools etc will be provided.  Stay for an hour or three. Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be plentiful. Do come along as it is a great way to get to build our church community, make new friends and do a good deed!’

Have a good week.
