Vicar's update 9th JuneSteve Newbold1 Small

We have had an amazing Pentecost Sunday!  At the 10.30 we took time to form a Prayer Tunnel so that everyone could be prayed with for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit and this was very powerful.   A good number of us went to the Beacon event in Trafalgar Square and had a fantastic time worshipping and praying with thousands of other Christians.
If you were at the 10.30 you will have heard the news that Ash Abbott our Worship Minister has been appointed as the Worship Pastor at St Michael’s in Southfields and will be leaving us in August.  We are delighted for Ash but really sad to see him go.  In the meantime we will advertise to recruit a new Worship Minister.
On Thursday (7.45pm – 9pm) there is a time of prayer and worship at the Gurnell Grove Community Centre as we pray for Missional Community and the estate.  Do come if you can to pray for all who live there and the work of The Grove community.
Next Saturday we have a Women’s Breakfast with Lindsay Melluish, - ‘Finding peace in an anxious world’.  You can book at church or on the website.  £4 donations on the day.
Sam Sanya will be ordained as a priest at 7pm on Friday 28th June at St Martin’s Church Kensal Rise, NW10 5SN - all are welcome.  There is a limited amount of on street parking after 6pm but it is a 2-minute walk from Kensal Green Station on Bakerloo and Euston Overground lines
On Sunday 30th June we will only have one main morning service as Sam will preside at Holy Communion for the first time at 10.30am. Do come to support him and please stay for our church BBQ.  There’s no charge but we do ask that you sign up over the next few weeks so that we can order the right amount of food.
'Would you Adam and Eve it?' is on Wednesday 3rd July at 7.15pm. A professional touring theatre company presents a light hearted look at the first 90 chapters of the bible.  You can book tickets on line here, or on Sunday mornings.
Next Sunday (16th) we will mark Father’s Day at our morning services, particularly at 10.30am, so bring your dad, grandad, uncles etc.  There will be a gift for all those who come who have a fathering role.
