Vicar's update 8th AprilSteve Newbold 2017 web2

It was a joy last week to welcome 90 adults and children from local schools and other groups to Experience Easter in our church building – thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen.
Our Women’s Breakfast is on Saturday (13th April) when Rachael and Sam Sanya will be telling us their story and how their lives have led them to St Stephen’s.  If you haven’t yet signed up to come please email the office so that we know how many to cater for.
This coming Sunday (14th) is Palm Sunday, the start of Holy Week. There are lots of special services during Holy Week all of which are detailed on our website here.  On Palm Sunday our 10.30am service will begin in the forecourt with some outdoor worship as we recall Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
We need people to help with the Bible readings on Good Friday at 2pm and Easter Day at 5.30am.  Perhaps you don’t usually read and would like to as a one off – let me know by return.
There are also sign up lists in church for those who wish to come to the Maundy Thursday Meal and Communion and also if you would like to donate money towards flowers at Easter.

The Ealing Foodbank is really important to many in need but stocks are low at the moment.  When you are doing your weekly shop can you remember to buy an item or two to put in the collection box at Church.  Details of current needs are here.

Our Youth Alpha course is nearly at an end.  Please pray for our young people as we continue to find ways to encourage them in their faith.

Our Annual Church Meeting is only a few weeks away on Sunday 28th April at 6.30pm.  You can now nominate people to stand for election.  In particular we need a new Churchwarden to replace Geoff Thomas who is stepping down.  Might God be calling you to serve in this way?  Do feel free speak to me about what it involves.

Have a good week.
