Vicar's update 10th MarchSteve Newbold 2017 web2

It was wonderful to welcome the Bishop of London today.  If you were present you will know what a joy filled service it was - her talk will soon be available on our website if you were not able to be there or would like to listen again. Bishop Sarah spent lots of time talking to people before and afterwards and I know many were blessed by her visit.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event so special.
The Bishop was booked to come many months ago as part of the extended celebrations of our 150th anniversary.  It was a coincidence that the visit fell when it did, but Caroline and I were both surprised and grateful that you chose to mark the 10th anniversary of my appointment as Vicar and were touched by the Bishop’s generous words and prayers.
On Monday and Tuesday this week most of the Leadership Team and a few others are attending the New Wine Leadership Conference at St Paul’s Church in Hammersmith. Please pray for fresh vision and spiritual renewal.
As we continue to journey through Lent we have a Quiet morning on Saturday – 10am to 12.30pm.  You are free to come and go as you wish and connect with God using the Prayer Stations or just by sitting quietly.
Next Sunday we begin a sermon series for Lent looking at how we can rely on God. Mark Tate will be kicking us off as we think about Relying on God for our Health and Strength.
Completed Electoral Roll forms are still coming in – if you are yet to fill one out please do so as soon as possible (last date forms will be accepted is 31st March - forms returned after this date will not be entered on the Electoral Roll).
Have a good week.
