Vicar's update 5th NovemberSteve Newbold 2017 web2

On Saturday we held our Alpha day.  It was exciting to see people making commitments to Christ and responding to the Holy Spirit and we have much to thank God for.  On Sunday, it was great to see some of our young people stepping out as they led the All Age service -  thank you to Chris Willis and all who took part.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) evening is our monthly Prayer Meeting at 8pm.  It is so important that we surround all that we do with prayer - please do come along if you can.

Next Sunday, is of course Remembrance Sunday.  We meet at 9am as usual but during the 10.30am morning service we will observe the national 2 minutes silence at 11am.  As this year marks 100 years since the end of the First World War we are holding a very special Service at 6.30pm with a focus on those whose names were listed on the WW1 War Memorial in the old church building.  Wine and nibbles will be served afterwards.

On Saturday 17th we will join with churches around the country in supporting The Big Quiz Night in aid of Tearfund.  It will be a lot of fun and raise money for a good cause.  Come with a team or on your own and join up with others. Speak to Jane Maffett for more details

The following Saturday (24th) is our Christmas Bazaar.  This year all the proceeds will be sent to Ealing Christians against Poverty one of our core mission partners.  There are many ways to be involved and we need lots of help. If you haven’t signed up yet you can do so on Sunday or have a word with Sue Charlton.

Finally, thank you to all those who have returned their Financial Pledge Card, it is much appreciated.  Our Giving Coordinators will be opening them all soon but if you have forgotten yours it's not too late.  You can either return it to the Church Office or bring it with you next Sunday.

Have a good week.

Steve
