Vicar's update 25th JuneSteve Newbold 2017 web2

Next weekend we welcome Sam Sanya as our new curate.  Sam will be ordained at St Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday (30th June) at 3pm – there is space in the Cathedral for any who want to go.   We will welcome Sam, Rachael and Hannah-Joy at our morning services on  Sunday (1st July) followed by a free church Hog Roast lunch – do come if you possibly can.

Our Community Fete is the following week on Sunday 8th July – we really do need everyone to help in some way and in particular:
·         delivering leaflets (there are still some in church)
·         sponsorship for the BBQ
·         lending cool boxes
·         help on the day especially with set up and pack down
If you can help please contact Jane Maffett (jane@maffett.co.uk)

For those interested in the new CofE High School Ada Lovelace but couldn’t make the public consultation last week, the display boards are now on the school blog along with a feedback form.  The planning application will be submitted in about a week so please have your say, and make constructive comments as soon as possible.  It’s really important to show the school is wanted and supported by the local community.

Our planned giving income is lower than we had anticipated and I am told that some donors haven’t acted on their pledges made last autumn.  If that is you, can I ask that you look into this and let our Giving Co-Ordinators know?

Finally, I attach below a letter of thanks from Ajay and family.

Have a good week.

Steve

The More Family write…

Thank you so much for your love, support and care. We have been truly blessed being with you.  It was a great year for us. For me, it was great to be with you at Sunday services, Shining Stars, Midweek Communion, Day Timers, Tea Timers and at St David’s.  You have taught me a lot and gave me an opportunity to learn from you and to serve you. Thank you.

Kavita felt welcomed here and enjoyed worshiping with us. She is thankful for allowing her to be involved in children’s ministry (crèche) and during Holy Communion.   Abhishek wants to thank Ash and all the worship team for encouraging him and allowing him to play in the band.  Whereas Arpita is thankful to Chris, Jane and Mary Ann for making her feel comfortable and allowing her to be involved in the group activities.

Finally, we want to thank you so much for the lovely send-off you gave us. Especially want to thank all those who cooked such a lovely meal.  And a big thank you for your generous gift. We will miss you all.  May God bless you and continue to use you for His glory

With love and prayers

Ajay, Kavita, Abhishek and Arpita
