Vicar's update 21st May
This is a season of change in the life of St Stephen’s. For the past year we have been blessed by the ministry of Ajay More but it is now time for him to move on. Please make it a priority to come and say farewell to Ajay, Kavita, Abhishek and Arpita at either of the morning services this Sunday (17th). After the 10.30am service there will be a shared lunch (if you haven’t signed up yet please email Morgen in the Church Office - firstname.lastname@example.org). Between the end of the 10.30am service and lunch we will show part of the DVD of last year’s trip to the Holy Land in the church while lunch is prepared.
Change continues - in a couple of weeks we will welcome Sam Sanya as our new curate. Sam will be ordained Deacon at St Paul’s Cathedral on 30th June at 3pm. We have some tickets for those who would like to go to the service - a sign up list is available. We look forward to welcoming Sam, Rachael and Hannah-Joy at our morning services on 1st July followed by a Hog Roast lunch – again sign up if you can come
Hot on the heels of these staffing changes is our Community Fete on Sunday 8th July. Have you committed to be involved yet? We really do need everyone to get involved in some way so please contact Jane Maffett (email@example.com) and let her know how you can help.
I know that a number of people in our church haven’t yet been baptised or confirmed. If that applies to you, why not consider taking this important step of faith on Sunday 23rd September at our Baptism and Confirmation Service with Bishop Pete? Please speak to me as soon as possible if you are interested.
Finally, the first public consultation on the new Ada Lovelace CoE High School building is on 19th and 20th June at Ealing Cricket club - details are attached if you wish to attend.
Have a good week.
