Vicar's update 30th October
Thank you to all those who have already returned their financial pledges – can those of us still to do so prayerfully consider our response and return completed pledges by next Sunday (5th November)?
Tomorrow we are holding our annual Light Party for children age 5-11. This is a Christian celebration of ‘All Hallows Eve’ (Halloween) and I do hope that you will bring your children along. Its great fun and so much better than the nastier side of this day. Many of us dislike the threats that so called ‘trick or treat’ poses and the Metropolitan Police have provide a poster that we can use to deter callers – I have attached it to this email if you wish to use it.
On Saturday we are holding a Quiet Morning in church. This will consist of a series of prayer stations that you can use on your own. Do feel free to drop in any time between 10.00am and 12.30pm.
On Sunday we have our monthly All Age Service at 10.30am – this month with the baptism of Ricard Istoc. Also on Sunday morning we have a special Traidcraft stall with lots of Christmas cards, gifts and products – do come and have a look.
Our annual Memorial Service to remember our departed loved ones is on Sunday afternoon at 3.30pm.
Looking ahead, Sunday 12th November is Remembrance Sunday when we will observe an act of Remembrance during the 10.30am service. Our preacher that day will be former Vicar the Revd David Runcorn. David will be joined by his wife Archdeacon Jackie Searle who was also on the staff here for a short time.
Have a great week
