Vicar's update 5th June
We had a great Pentecost Sunday yesterday and I am now really excited about this coming Sunday (11th), when we celebrate the ACTUAL day of our 150th anniversary. We are marking this very special day as follows - please do make sure that you are present and bring your family and neighbours too:
David Ison, Dean of St Paul's Cathedral will be preaching at both morning services
The children will have fun experiencing a Victorian style Sunday school
There is a free Hog Roast lunch (veggie options) and salad from 12.30pm - can you bring a contribution to the pudding/dessert table (if you feel imaginative, create one from sometime over the last 150 years!)
There will be an afternoon of games and activities for all ages until 3.30pm
There will be no 6.30 service
Reaching Others is a key part of our vision statement, and Saturday saw our church open to 2 events which brought friends and neighbours into our building - our 'Thy Kingdom Come' prayer stations and 'Time Travelling', our 150th anniversary history exhibition of local area and church. This exhibition of our 150 years as a worshipping community continues on Friday Saturday and Sunday (9-11th June ) from 10am to 4pm - we have had wonderful feedback so far, so do come. Tell friends and neighbours and share the attached flier.
Have a great week and hope to see you at the weekend.
