Vicar's update 14th May
Thank you to the Mission Team who worked so hard yesterday as we marked the beginning of Christian Aid week. It’s not too late to get involved in helping out or you can simply make a donation using one of the Christian Aid envelopes in church. This year Christian Aid week is directed towards the many refugees in our world.
As we continue our 150th anniversary celebrations we are looking forward to this coming Sunday (21st) when we welcome back the Revd Jan Clark who was Vicar here until 2008. Jan will be preaching at both the 9am and 10.30am services and as well as the usual Café we will have an additional Café time after the 10.30am service giving more time to talk to Jan.
Andrew Dand will be licensed as Rector designate at St Mary’s Hanwell on the evening of Wednesday June 7th at 8pm. The service will be preceded with refreshments from 6.30pm in the Churchyard. If you are planning on attending please let Morgen Edwards know so that we can give St Mary’s an indication of numbers
Thy Kingdom Come is a global wave of prayer initiated by the Archbishops. The aim is to pray for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit on our churches and those we know who are not yet Christians. It begins next week and in addition to our usual services we will mark it in the following ways…
Thursday 25th May 8pm Ascension Day Communion at Church
Saturday 27th May 5.30pm – 6.30pm Ealing Churches Together event at Haven Green Baptist Church
Saturday 3rd June 10am – 4pm Prayer Stations in Church (come and go as you wish)
7.30pm Beacon Celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral (tickets here) with Bishop Ric Thorpe and worship led by Matt Redman
Sunday 4th June 6.30pm Pentecost Celebration at Church
I do hope we can all devote some extra time to prayer during this week.
Have a good week.
