Vicar's update 24th April
I hope you enjoyed last week’s confirmation service with Bishop Ric. It was a really special day and I know that the candidates were all blown away by their experience of God. If you weren’t able to hear Bishop Ric’s sermon (or even if you did!) it is on our website – well worth a listen! There are also photos are on our Facebook page.
On Monday and Tuesday a group of us joined 6,000 others at the HTB Leadership Conference in London. We had a great time and hope to share some of what we experienced in the coming months. It would be really good if others wanted to join us next time (7th and 8th May 2018) – more details later in the year.
As I’m sure you know, the Dand family leave us on Sunday (7th May) – make sure that you are in Church that day to say goodbye to them and do come to the Bring and Share lunch – if you haven’t signed up let the Rosemary Beardow know (RBeardow@aol.com).
The Archbishops are once again calling the church to prayer between Ascension Day and Pentecost (25th May – 4th June) for the Holy Spirit to bring more people to faith in Jesus. There are several ways that we can engage with this and more details will be shared in the coming weeks. For now, please note the dates and think about joining us at the ‘Beacon Celebration ‘at St Paul’s Cathedral on Saturday 3rd June 7.30pm —9pm (free tickets are available now here).
Finally, George Hore, an older member of our church, is moving house and in need of some good quality second hand furniture. If anyone has things that might be passed on please contact Gordon Nunn in the Office (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday
