Vicar's update 6th March
Thank you to all who arranged and came to our 150th Anniversary Quiz Night – it was a challenging but good evening!
This week there are a few buildings matters to mention:
1) This Saturday (11th March)we have our Big Clean and Odd Job morning at Church (10am – 2.30pm). It would be so helpful if a more of us could come along for an hour or two to help smarten the building up. Can you help - just turn up.
2) We have outline permission from the Diocese for our new chairs and the formal faculty process is under way (notices are up in the Centre). The back benches will be removed next week so that they can be recovered and returned when the new chairs are delivered in early April.
3) Our buildings plans for redeveloping the toilets and former choir vestry are moving ahead as we now have Planning Permission for the work. The Church Council will be agreeing the final details next week and we hope work will start at the beginning of the summer.
On Sunday (12th March) we are looking forward to Tricia Hillas (Canon Pastor from St Paul’s Cathedral) coming to preach at both 9am and 10.30am.
On Tuesday next week (14th March) we are holding a Magic Lantern Evening (this time a show rather than a service). The evening is being hosted by the Tuesday Group in memory of Beverley Jackson who was a member of that group and was looking forward to see a Magic Lantern Show. Refreshments will be served from 8pm – the evening is free but there will be a collection for the work of St David’s where Ken Taylor (another member of the Tuesday Group) now lives.
Finally, don’t forget our monthly Prayer Meeting this week (Tuesday at 8pm). There’s so much to pray for.
Have a great week
