Vicar's update 21st February        Steve4to5-3244373775-O

This Sunday (26th February) we are looking forward to Mark Russell coming to preach at both 9am and 10.30am.  Mark is an excellent speaker and not to be missed.  He currently leads the Church Army who oversee our mission partners the Marylebone Project - you can find Mark's biography here.

Lent begins next week on Ash Wednesday (1st March) when we shall have Communion services at 9.30am and 8pm,  At both of these services there is the opportunity to be marked on the forehead with the sign of the cross in ash.

As you know, as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations the Church Council have decided to replace our current rather worn church chairs with a newer more comfortable version – a sample of which is still in the small hall.  We will replace the existing plastic chairs in the hall with the best of the current church chairs.  This means that we need to dispose of about 90 covered church chairs and 60 plain plastic chairs by early April.  If you know of an organisation who might like them (or if you would like any yourself) for a modest donation please let us know.

Our Quiz Supper is at 6.30pm on 4th March – tickets are still available, click here for details.

Have a good week

With my love,

Steve
