Vicar's update 7th February        Steve4to5-3244373775-O

Thank you to all who came or helped with Ivan Poulton’s funeral – it was a lovely celebration of his life.  Sheila Bruce’s funeral will be held on Monday 13th February at 10am followed by cremation at Breakspear then refreshments back at church.  All are welcome.

This Sunday we begin a short teaching series looking at our vision.  We will take one part of our strapline each week - worship, discipleship and outreach.  This week I’ll be speaking about the importance of worship as we look at John 12:1-11.

I hope you have Sunday 26th February marked in your diary when Mark Russell is coming to preach at both 9am and 10.30am.  Mark currently leads the Church Army who oversee our mission partners the Marylebone Project - you can find a full biography on our website.  He is an excellent preacher and will be speaking to us about outreach.

Finally, this Sunday evening as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations we have a very special Magic Lantern Service which will transport us back to worship in the Victorian era.  Some think that digital projection in church is relatively new but we will find that the Victorians were projecting words and images onto screens many years ago.  Come and enjoy – Sunday (12th) 6.30pm - 7.30pm.

With my love,

Steve
