Vicar's update 21st June           Steve4to5-3244373775-O

This Sunday we will welcome to our morning services Canon Joel Edwards, Strategic Advisor to Christian Solidarity Worldwide, one of our core Mission Partners.  Joel is a fantastic public speaker who sometimes features on Radio 4’s Thought for the Day.   Do come along to hear what he has to say and to learn more about our Christian brothers and sisters who are persecuted for their faith.
The Church Council are have begun to review our staffing needs and are currently advertising for a part time Worship Minister to further develop the contemporary styles of music in worship at our informal services.  Full details of the job are available on the Church website – do pass this on to anyone who you know who might be interested.  James Harvey will continue to retain responsibility for the more traditional aspects of our sung worship.  We are also looking at other staffing needs and hope to make further progress soon.
On Sunday 3rd July, at both morning services we will celebrate Stephen, the saint who we are named after, with four baptisms at our 10.30 All Age Worship followed by Café Extra and then at 12.30pm a Church Picnic in Cleveland Park.  Do plan to come and bring your family and friends.
Publicity leaflets are now available for our Holiday Club Mega Makers, 30th August-2nd September.  Please pick some up and pass them onto friends and neighbours who might be interested.  Caroline Newbold would like to hear from anyone who hasn’t yet offered to help, please email her.
Have a great week
With my love
