Vicar's update 14th June           Steve4to5-3244373775-O

We have enjoyed a wonderful weekend celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday.  Our invitation lunch on Friday saw over 60 church members and their guests enjoy the National Service of Thanksgiving on the large screens followed by an excellent lunch and a quiz.  Then on Sunday both Guest Services were well attended and followed by a brilliant Shared Lunch.  Again we welcomed a good number of visitors and guests.  Thank you to all who invited friends and also to all who helped organise and staff these events.  If you missed out have a look at the St Stephen’s Facebook page to see some photographs.
On Thursday evening (16th) we are holding an information evening for anyone who may be interested in joining our trip to the Holy Land in November 2017.  Do feel free to come along whether you’ve already expressed an interest or not – it’s the perfect opportunity to find out more.
This coming Sunday we will mark Father’s Day, especially at our 10.30am service.  Why not use the opportunity to invite the man in your life to come to church, be that a dad, grandad, uncle, son or close friend – they can be assured of a great welcome.
On Sunday evening at 7.30pm we have our regular celebration Open to God when our speaker will be Sophie Johnson. Do come along for extended worship, teaching and ministry.
With my love
