Vicar's update 12th January
I’m excited about the two new sermon series we’ve just started. In our morning services we’ve launched Just 10, a series devised by CofE evangelist J John. These talks are going to be a really practical and applicable as they look at the Ten Commandments. Meanwhile, at Open to God we have started a series on Spiritual Gifts. You can catch up or listen again to talks online by clicking here.
You may know that in 2015 we reorganised our support staff structure, and as part of this restructure we were keen to employ a Communications Manager. I am delighted to announce that Amanda Miah, our former administrator, is re-joining our staff team this month on short-term basis to take up this role. Amanda will work alongside Gordon in the office, managing internal and external communications including our website and social media output. She will also provide some administrative support to me in my new role as Area Dean. Gordon will continue to manage our building and lettings, whilst both will share some other administrative tasks.
It's great that Amanda is also going to be the speaker at our next Women’s Breakfast coming up on Saturday 23rd January at 9am. She has a compelling story to tell - why not invite a friend? Sign-up in church if you haven’t already or contact us.
Finally, next week is the national Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. We are celebrating this in Ealing as follows:
Sunday 17th January at St Barnabas Church, Pitshanger Lane
5pm Sung Evening Prayer followed by refreshments
If you would like to sing in the massed choir please turn up at 3.30pm for a rehearsal.
Sunday 24th January at Pitshanger Methodist Church, Pitshanger Lane
6.30pm Unity Service preceded by refreshments from 6pm
Have a blessed week, and see you Sunday.
