Vicar's update 22nd Dec DSCF5838crop

I hope you enjoyed our Carol Services as much as I did.  We had record numbers – well over 300 people across the two services – and many visitors commented on a wonderful occasion.  Thank you to the army of people who made these services possible – singers, musicians, stewards and welcome team, the hospitality team, sound and vision operators and many others who worked behind the scenes. I want to say a particular thank you to James Harvey who has been planning and working for these services since the end of August and has worked each week with the choir – thank you James.

We are now approaching the ‘big day’ itself and I hope that in the midst of the busy-ness you are finding some time to be still and encounter God.  If you are around, do come and worship at St Stephen’s.  All of our services are popular, especially the Christmas Eve afternoon service. If you are planning to come then can I encourage you to arrive early and do get your children to dress as a nativity character or animal – it’s going to be a lot of fun.

Christmas Eve
4.30pm Carols, Nativity and Christingles – children are encouraged to dress as a character from the nativity story.
11.30pm Midnight Communion

Christmas Day
10.30am Whole Church Communion – do bring a present to show to us all - service time 60mins

Sunday 27th December
10.30am Whole Church Communion
No 9am or 6.30pm services

For those who are going away I wish you a very Happy Christmas.

With my love

Steve
