Vicar's update 2nd Nov
We’ve had a lovely but busy weekend. Our Light Party for young children attracted lots of families from outside church, the Annual Memorial Service also brought many people to St Stephen’s and over 30 of us came together last night at new 7.30pm Open to God meeting where Andrew spoke helpfully about growing in intimacy with God.
We have our monthly Prayer Meeting at Church tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 8pm and would love to see you there.
As you know every year we ask all members to review their financial giving to St Stephen’s. Thank you to those who have already responded. Caroline and I sat down yesterday to spend some time talking through our own response and I hope that if you haven’t already done so you will do the same. Can you please ensure that you return your completed pledge on or before this coming Sunday 8th November?
We are considering organising a Church Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in the autumn of 2017. The cost will be in the region of £2,000 per person. So far we have only had a few responses so if you might be interested, no commitment at this stage, please contact me by return.
This coming Sunday is Remembrance Sunday – the day when the nation pauses for a few minutes to acknowledge the sacrifice of so many in past, and our present generation. Our main Act of Remembrance will be included during the 10.30am service but both the 9am and 6.30pm services will also include space for reflection.
I hope you have a good week.
With my love
