Vicar's start of term update
Thursday 18th September
Last Sunday I spoke about the importance of belonging to a Connect Group – our new mid week small groups. If you missed the talk you can catch up here.
I believe that belonging to small group is an essential part of our individual growth as Christians. Please do think about joining – if you are not sure what’s on offer pick up a leaflet a church or have a word with Andrew Dand or myself.
This Sunday we welcome Stuart Windsor from Christian Solidarity Worldwide – one of our key mission partners. In recent weeks we have seen on our TV screens images of unbelievable persecution of Christians. Stuart is a fantastic speaker - do come and here what he has to say and if you wish give to the work of CSW. There will also be a cake sale to raise funds for CSW.
On Sunday 28th September we will join in with the Ealing Half Marathon. Please come and support our Community Café and watch the race from the grounds of the church from 9.30am onwards. Several members of our church are taking part; let’s make sure we cheer them on! Details of the charities they are fundraising for can be found on a flyer in church. On that day there will be a short, said 9am service but no 10.30am service. The evening service at 6.30pm will be an informal Communion.
Harvest is the following weekend beginning with a family Ceilidh on Saturday 4th at 6.30pm. On Sunday 5th we will hold a Whole Church Service at 10.30am (no 9am service) and a special Harvest Evening Service at 6.30pm.
We join our prayers and support with those in our local Community as the hunt for missing Alice Gross continues. Alice is an active member of the Dance Gallery that meets at St Stephen’s each week and her absence is being keenly felt. Please do pray continue to pray for this situation, for Alice, her family and all those who are searching for her.
With my love
