For when I was hungry, you gave me food, when thirsty,

you gave me drink, when naked, you clothed me...” (Matthew 25,v.35)

Founded in the early 70s, EALING SOUP KITCHEN is run by a group

of local churches and is open every Saturday and Sunday, 4 PM – 5 PM, in

the church room at St. John’s Church, Mattock Lane, West Ealing, serving

hot food and drinks to the homeless and needy in the Borough of Ealing.

There is usually also a selection of clothing and blankets available.

At Christmas time we are open Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing

Day, for longer hours, and on Christmas Day and Boxing Day a full dinner is

served.  Although we do have one part-time professional worker whose

main job is counselling, all the other workers are volunteers, recruited from

the churches involved in the scheme: St. John’s, St.Stephen’s, Haven

Green Baptist, Kingsdown Methodist, St. Mary’s (South Ealing), and Ealing

Abbey.   Most of the teams welcome volunteers from other parts of the

borough.
