Light out of Darkness

Advent Window at The Avenue Shops, West Ealing

The idea of Advent Windows is to build a Living Advent Calendar around the parish of our church St Stephen’s, in the period leading up to Christmas, when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Every day from December 1st to 24th 2009 a window was decorated around the parish, and was on show until after Christmas.

Our theme was 'Light out of Darkness' - this very much symbolises our faith, particularly at Christmas, and also picks up the challenges of a recession.

All the windows displayed stars in some way, some also expressed other things and added some fun!
